“Young Leader” Award at Mujeres Destacadas 2013 Gala

I was truly honored when I heard I had been nominated (by an unknown friend at the time) for the La Prensa Orlando’s Mujeres Destacadas Awards, an event which recognizes ladies who are movers and shakers in the Central Florida community. I was in complete shock when I received news that I had been chosen as one of three finalists in the Joven Líder (Young Leader) category.

So, imagine my surprise when, come the night of the ceremony, the final category, Young Leader is presented…and I was the winner! I felt completely overwhelmed and that feeling of being totally blessed has continued.

I posted photos of this event on Holdin’ Out for a Hero (plus a reflection on how I’ve gotten to this point!) and on Espresso con Leche.
